Apply User-driven Approach in Service Development: the INDIGO experience
Date:
Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 11:30
Overview:
Cloud-based solutions can help scientists from many different fields to improve the way of doing research (effectiveness, sharing, data re-use, elasticity, etc.) through various types of services such as storage or computing. However, in many cases, there is a gap between the scientists and IT developers, resulting in service products do not satisfy users’ needs. Within the context of the H2020 project, INDIGO-DataCloud, we propose an agile-based methodology, and identify community “Champions" who know well about the scientific use cases and have sufficient knowledge of technology. They help ensure new INDIGO services can better match the scientific requirements. This presentation will show how this methodology can be adopted to reduce the gap between scientists and developers, which tools have been used, and examples of the flow adopted to match the scientific needs with the INDIGO solutions.
Target Audience:
E-infrastructure service providers and scientific community researchers
Benefits for Audience:
Learn how to assure that user (researchers) requirements are taken into account and tracked into solutions, how to better reduce the gaps between researchers and developments.
