A Cloud-Based Infrastructure for Community-Driven Data Mining on Research Outputs
Date:
Thursday, September 29, 2016 - 14:00
Overview:
This talk proposes a cloud-based infrastructure for community-driven data mining on research outputs. Such a platform will enable researchers to acquire and sustain an overview on the state of the art of a discipline or research area, based on their background knowledge and own topics, discover trends, and analyze different facets about their project's, group's, and institute's research outputs. Such a platform is urgently required and the key to enable researchers to cope with the exponential growth and increasing variety of research outputs.
Target Audience:
- funding agencies
- infrastructure providers interested in developing such a platform
- researcher working to improve algorithms
Benefits for Audience:
Participants will learn about the challenges that are raised by the growing volume and variety of research outputs and potential solutions. Lessons learned from operating a scholarly community platform for 10 years and ideas on how to interconnect such a platform with other systems to a cloud-based infrastructure for community-driven data mining on research outputs.
